1. Choice of topic.
Early in the course each participant chooses a
project topic from a list of suggested topics.
2. Producing an annotated
reading list.
Each participant will conduct a library search and produce
an annotated reading list for the chosen topic and make it available to the
class.
3. Conduct an online conference about the topic chosen for a
project.
Each participant will organize an online conference for his/her
project. For this the student prepares an annotated bibliography and a first
outline of his/her paper. The outline should be broken down in a number of main
topics and presented for discussion. Comments and feedback from peers and
faculty should be built into the final paper. (Much of the 30% for active,
visible participation are to be earned here.)
4. Produce the project
document.
The participant will use the critical feedback for improving
the final project document. The project paper itself will consist of a document
of about 5000 words (maximum 7000, minimum 4000). (The final project contributes
70% to the grade.)
