The medium is the message. It is not what new technology or invention can do that is important but how it makes us act differently asa society.

On a global basis we are experiencing a paradigm shift from industrialized methods to knowledge age practices. In module 3, Petershammered this point home time after time. ?The shift from oral based teaching to technically mediated represents a severe break ofacademic tradition."

Because society at large uses new technology to communicate, education must take advantage of society?s acceptance of and use ofthe new technology to expand its delivery methods. Message boards and email are common place methods of communicating formany people today.

In this class we took advantage of these t a distance communication methods. We all comprehended the intended objectives fromeach module. We can speak or write intelligently about distance education history, theory, pedagogy, structure and its future.

From that we can conclude that the delivery method and media used in this course is equivalent to method and media used intraditional environments.
