My counter to your argument is this.....through this course I have learned that the latest technology is shaping the delivery of distance education, but there is one older technology that continues to have a presence in a distance learning curriculum. That is paper. It can be used to print out the course content, questions, and answers from both online conferences and discussions, as well as collect the notes written by a student in a F2F conference. So, going back to a posting numerous times isn't any better than a student taking notes (on paper) and coming to class prepared for or with questions.

I fail to see the issue here ... so you have to review your notes? Online it's a lot easier to keep them together and access them on the fly. Forget you notebook on the Metro? Your notes are gone. Not so online. Just log-in and read 'em or print 'em or whatever. Flexibility vs. limited flexibility ...
