Looking at the original questions for proposers/opposers, perhaps there is no right or wrong, better
or lessor situation here. situation here. "Can on-line conferences
produce equal or superior outcomes? or even similar outcomes?" On-line discussions will produce
outcomes unique to the medium. They may be similar in some
cases, inferior in others or superior in some. Like comparing apples and kiwi fruit, they look and
taste very different, grow in different places but both are fruits.
You cannot mistake one for the other, yet the physical and chemical properties that make them fruits
are more alike than different. Sometimes you want an apple
and other times kiwi is better. Or maybe it's all fruity. J
I do not feel that in the end you can replace one with the other. A university is still the best place
for full emersion in a study program. DE is best for working adults and
for those with limited access. And can also be a suppliment for the full-time student to keep their
schedule open (no classes before 10am).
