13.8 :-? Cheryl to Thomas' intro

13.8.2 :-) Shyamala

In response to your challenge I would like to make two points:

1. Online courses are designed for the mature adult who is seeking knowledge. Such a person, one can reasonablyassume, will have a good grasp of what he/she requires from the course...in any case the course objectives are clarifiedto clear out any doubts. How difficult or easy to make the course work for themselves is the individual's choice.Availability of help does not rob the learner of this freedom. But it is available for use when required. If you go to thesupermarket, you don't have to buy everything just because it is available! Do we challenge the efficiency of thesupermarket in its ability to supply us with our needs?

2. We are in an age of information overload. It is impossible for one person to know or figure out every little thing. When I make use of help, I am reserving my energies for what I really want to do than get exhausted in trying to do ahundred things. Believe me getting information can be tiring! So in an online course when I see nformation neatlyclassified where I can find it, ask questions when I need to, it helps me focus on the task at hand and thereby increasesmy efficiency and productivity. So I can concentrate on what I want to do in the course....learn.

Yes, I believe it has better outcome.

Shyamala.
