Face-to-face seminars also allows interaction with a variety of diverse individuals. Each person sitting
in the traditionalclassroom brings a different learning style with
them. Today's classroom has many different cultures too. Stereotyping isnot gone from on-line learing.
Case in point, the first posting for this debate and Thomas'
response. Without the abilityto see the non-verbal cues of the individual posting his opinion, Thomas
made the assumption the individual did notgrasp the knowledge
presented in this course. As for questions not being addressed in class or in front of others, instructors
provide ways for students to contact them or a facilitator before
and after class. Online research is notalways quick and accessible 24 hr. Individuals who live in rural
America do not have reliable bandwidth to have fasttransmission of
information over the Internet, therefore, making access to resources difficult and time consuming.
And here is one point no one has brought to the debate, assumed identies. How do you know your online
"classmate"was the same person you interacted with
yesterday? In the traditional classroom such activity would be discovered andaddressed.
